Marseille R16: Soderling d. Mahut 7-6(8) 7-6(5)

Mahut had set points in the first tiebreak and led 5-2 in the second before losing the next 5 points

Missed opportunity for a great win really...

Typical Mahut - completely useless tie-break player with extremely pathetic record - 29-61 (0.322), never in doubt despite seemingly a close match

I don't even know how he managed to choke away that tiebreak lead. The match would have been his otherwise because Sod was miserable and played miserably out there today.

Mahut should seriousy have won this in two, incredible that he didn't take at least a set.

I didn't know about that tie-break record, that's abysmal.

Soderling was fucking awful, but then he was ill

Either way is a win is a win but I kind of feel for Mahut

Robin played on 50% and was a bit ill been having a cold or something. Mostly serving and errors and winners here and there zzzz... Robin will lose to llodra and get a good break untill DC..

Hilariously bad match, Robin footwork and baseline game were horrific. Serve saved him in this one. Although thruth be told, Mahut wasn't much to the world either, he started the first set really well but was pretty bland after.

Mahut and Hanescu two biggest chokers on tour.

Soderling did everything he could to lose, but still wasn't enough

Huh. Would probably be best if Robin lost to Llodra now.

Pfff, typical Mahut this. So close to a big win, but doesn't get it in the end.
