WWW Rotterdam final: Soderling vs. Tsonga?

On paper, this has the potential of being a great match.
Robin leads the H2H 3-0 though and he's won all three in straight sets... and he's pretty good at reading Tsonga's serve. Soda might just defend a title for the first time in his career tomorrow.

Sod in 2.

Go Sod, and show the tennis world once again why you are the rightful ATP #4.

Jo is very easy match for Robin. He is "poor man's" Söderling.

Robin will win 8th title and defend #4 position for sure.

Their style of play is very different.

I usually don't trust a frenchie to win any important match and h2h in this case is impressive but Tsonga is a good indoor player, can play on this surface. I don't know, Soderling will probably win but he sometimes has bad days when he looks so far away and when the match goes wrong for him he just walks away mentally.

Nah, that was 2 years ago. Since Robin became top 10 he's evolved mentally, that much is obvious. Now he can win even when his game is not clicking.

And Tsonga is not a great returner either so if Robin serves like he did today, then I doubt Sod will have much trouble in the final.

You think so? To me losing to Golubev (?) 3 and 2 and to Rogie 1 and 1 speaks exactly what I said. Not to forget to Mayer in Stockholm where he lost 2nd set 61.

He lost those matches because he was shit, losses with 2 and 3 means that you are being outclassed. Robin was awful after Wimbledon last season, those losses show that. Could've easily lost against Ferrer in Båstad + Gulbis and Hewitt in the NA masters tournaments if not for some mental strength.

---

Only way I see Tsonga coming out on top is if Söderling's three consecutive tough night session matches has taken its toll. If he plays on the level he has played with throughout this tournament and given his history with Tsonga, he should win.
