San Jose R2: Del Potro def. Lacko 6-1 7-6(1)

Dodgy 2nd set, saved 2 SPs. His problem is the serve(2nd set lack of FS put him into trouble, but gutsy save of 2SPs with winners). Apart from that his forehand everything is still here, of course he still needs matches to go back to his slam-winning level

Glad Lacko put up a fight in 2nd set. After failing to convert 2SPS at 5-4* he is done.

Next round against Hewitt should be interesting.

Del Potro has already won 3 sets this year saving set points. I think it should be a breakthrough tournament for him after the injury. He should get at least the semifinal, I can't imagine his loss to Hewitt after the Aussie struggled so much with Dabul.

Unfortunately, a win versus this Lacko doesn't say so much.

Hewitt was beyond pathetic against Dabul, DelPotro should win in 2 easy sets next

Same guy who bageled kneedull.

Juan Martin Del Potro

But he lost 23 times against you.
's right. We have to also throw into the mix. But I do not think it is currently the decisive factor. But he has achieved in my opinion too much. Maybe this is crucial if I move him even closer after major victories. But 14 or 17 Grand Slam titles is a significant difference. At the present time there is no question that he must be the greater player than me.

This sickness was very obvious for everyone to see... I think it was first time he claimed illness...

Nadal is not playing here, please do not drag his name into the thread cos he has nothing to do with this match... and it doesnt matter if he was sick or not, this match matters

Good that DelPo got another match under his belt.
It was mentioned that his wrist was a little sore but nothing dramatic, something to keep in mind.
His game still looks rusty, some very good play but a little inconsistent.
He had a few saved set points, he still has that mental attribute which is always needed at the highest level.
