San Jose R1: Hewitt def. Phau 6-3 6-3
Bjorn has so much shotmaking ability. If only he had consistency or true power to go with it. Way too many missed FHs, as always. No serve consistency and just no real gameplan. Hewitt is a terrible match-up for Bjorn, since he can't hit through him, he got frustrated and errored himself out of the match.
Both players had their issues holding serve in the first set, but Lleyton was simply the more solid player throughout the match, and mixed in aggression as well. Lleyton moved well and kept the ball deep throughout most of the match. He served OK at times, missed some shots he shouldn't have, but it was a pretty decent performance from Lleyton.
