New kids on the block

Tomic, Dimitrov, Berankis, Dolgopolov, Raonic, Paire,... and I think I'm still forgetting some.

A lot of young, upcoming guys doing well or at least showing themselves on the big stage here at the AO.

I think it's great to have new generation coming up.

Who do you guys think can go all the way (top 10 maybe?) in the future?

Re: New kids on the block

You forgot Nishikori- who was in 2008 ,, new kid,, then he injured and was 2 years silent, but now he is getting back. So we can count him to the rest as a NEW GUY . I would also give here De Bakker- he played last year some good matches but he is still young and have potential. Yes Del Potro and Cilic are also young- but they have achieved something yet- so we can count them to the BIG GUYS already.
about top 10 is hard to say but i think:
Tomic- great player- big future- but i think it is not good for him that alredy whole Australia is talking about him and making superstar from him. Let wait what he can do.
Dimitrov- The same - his couch said he is better than Federer in his age and everyone is talking about him, just wait thant talk- the same like Tomic he has big future but he must go step by step.
Berankis- great player too.
Dolgpolov and De Bakker- both are in top 50 already and in 2010 have made name for themselves. Dolgopolov is really playing interresting style and i hope he will go to top 20 as soon as possible, De Bakker great serve but he must became mentally stronger- what he did against Monfils was really scary- he should beat him 3:0...
Raonic- became my favouritte player in last days. I watched all of his matches in Melbourne- this guy maybe wasnt the famous from this group of youngsters but he has the best serve of this group- and i think the same chances for big future like the rest- his serve is on the same level like Isner- who is 20th was 18th in the world, but he is quicker, younger overall better- so if John made to top 20 , Raonic should make top 10 not this year, next year but i think he will someday.
Paire- I don´t know much about him and watched just one his match so i can´t say much to him
Nishikori- in 2008 even Nadal was talking how great player so i hope after injuries and 2 silent years- 2009-2010 finally 2011 will be his year and he will fulfill his potential.

Re: New kids on the block

Nadal shouldn't worry about these guys, he will still dump them when he will be 30. If won of them wins 2 slams it's a miracle.

Re: New kids on the block

Marin Cilic took last ATP title for teenagers.. we will wait a lot more to find another one

Last teenager to finish season in Top 100 was Nishikori in 2008.. Grigor will be 20 in few months time and don't think any other can be in that group at the end of 2011,for the 3rd str8 year

Re: New kids on the block

Six months ago we worried why no teens in Top-100 and now we end with putting 22 yo into "young guns" group.

They are all of different generations, I want to say :

1. Del Potro, Cilic, Dolgopolov, De Bakker, Nishikori - 22-21

2. Berankis, Raonic, Dimitrov - 19-20

3. Tomic, Harrison - 18

At least we can unite 2 and 3 group, but boys from 1st group is completely different story, they are hitting road for 4-5 years on regular basis.

Re: New kids on the block

Dolgopolov is the best of the bunch. Next Davydenko.

I love all aspects of TENNIS.

Federer - The Artist
Murray - The Tactician
Nalbandian - The Ballstriker
Llodra - The S/V

I'd include Goffin in the mix.
