AO R3: Soderling def. Hernych 6-3 6-1 6-4

Robin started off pretty lazily but Jan Hernych, who is a qualifier and ranked 241, still didn't have any weapons at all to hurt him. Robin took the set with one break.
In the second, Soderling woke up. He lost the first game there but then won 6 straight playing great tennis to feed Jan the breadstick.
Jan still never gave up though and even had a couple of breakpoints in the third, but Robin saved them all. At 2-1, Hernych calls down the umpire from his chair. Turns out the COURT IS BROKEN again. However after about 15 minutes, play could resume. The third set was overall pretty competitive because Hernych was playing at his best. Robin broke once to end the match.

Even though today's match was never in doubt, Hernych deserves credit for getting through 2 rounds in the MD after managing to qualify. I liked his attitude today on court.

Robin will probably face Tsonga in R4. That will be an interesting battle.

Hernych had no chance, he is basically a nothing player. Soderling was too good.

My mum probably would have put up a better fight than Hernych.

Soderling will play with Dolgopolov - Tsonga started clowning like an idiot...

NID could have been easier but credit to Hernych for competing in the 3rd set.

Shame it's taken this long to get Hernych out of the draw.

Soderling looked incredible in the second, not so convincing otherwise. Also seems to be struggling in the conditions despite his progress
