What about Roger's walkabouts?

Repeated inexplicable collapses when you are playing a great match and then losing from a winning position.
Is it nerves?
Is it concentration relapse?
Is it age? Match ups?

She's not the only one doing this.

“When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men in a society, over the course of time they create for themselves a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it.”

Re: What about Roger's walkabouts?

well, gilles began to play better from the half of the second set onwards. it's not just federer having a slip.

but yeah, fed has always been prone to mental lapses. sometimes they last a lot, other times litte.

Re: What about Roger's walkabouts?

I think he gets nervous.

Tennis is a high pressure sport, sadly for Roger, even as the GOAT, there is immense pressure on him to avoid defeats.

Its difficult for fed to remain awake against these pushers.

The law of nature, only the strong survive.

This is not news, Fed was simply able to manage it better before.

Need ideas for a new signature...

When you get old you become less fearless and lose your nerve. Federer has lost it.

Actually I think Rafa is getting it too. The big point is how you deal with it, and imo, Federer is dealing with it fine for now.

Re: What about Roger's walkabouts?

Combination of arrogance and loss of focus. He's 2-0 up, thinking he's so much better than the opponent, starts planning what to do in about 15 minutes time, and all of a sudden he becomes sloppy and nonchalant.

Rafa is head and shoulders above everybody else mentally, he's the polar opposite to Federer. Watch the AO Final for more information.

Nothing new here. He won the match lets forget it and move.
