Nadal is so lucky. Daniel had him right where he wanted him.

Re: Nadal def. Daniel 6-0 5-0 ret.

I was kinda praying Daniel would retire as soon as possible in the second set so we could see another match, something at least entertaining He did try though..

Re: Nadal def. Daniel 6-0 5-0 ret.

That was a pretty embarrassing match from Daniel. He could have continued, but then again he wouldn't have won even one game.

If at first you don't succeed, lower your standards.

Rafa looked shaky in that 1-0 game, otherwise nothing much

Tough match for the world number one

After Nadal beat Monfils at Doha, before AO 2014

Only Del Potro can take him out before the semis, and he won't. Nadal is winning the AO, bet your house on it.
Somewhere out there, there is a homeless person who once took betting advice from GSMnadal

Nadal keeps his perfect 1st round record at grand slams.

I dunno what happened in the 2nd game of the 2nd set though.

Shame for Marcos, tried to stick it out for the fans but clearly he wouldn't have been able to have an impact on the match. Sad to see a player have to retire from a rare experience in his career.

Can't gauge Rafa's form from this match, gives him a bit more time to recover fully from flu if he hasn't already and to work on his serve a bit with any luck.
