How far will Richard Gasquet go in this years AO?

Last year Lionheart was beaten as soon as first round by world n°20 Youzhny in a thrilling 5-setter. He reached 4th round in recent US Open though.

He will play against a top 4 player in the third round. No way he goes further than that.

R1 - He'll choke from 2 sets and a break up again while having a few match points.

If he wins Sydney, his tank is empty for the next week and he might lose to Murray or someone else in another five setter as he did after winning Nice last year. If he loses Sydney in the QF or SF, he has a chance to make it to the 3rd or 4th round of AO realistically.

Maybe 4 or 5 if he wants to get more of a workout in.

He is only top 30-35 no surprise he loses against better ranked players. You don't expect him to beat Nadal or Djokovic

if i look at the hype and cred he gets here at mtf he should be winning ao in straight sets.

Re: How far will Richard Gasquet go in this years AO?

it's funnier to discuss about our favorite mugs before the tournament starts, because soon after they will be gone, and all the threads will be about "Rafa Slam" "Federer's 17th" "Nadal or Federer" " Federer or Nadal" etc.

I want him to win a nice 5 setter for a change, even in first round, it's been a long time, that will give him confidence.

Huh?!? He doesn't get a lot of cred or hype at all.. most people here hate him!

I'm a fan, but trust me.. Gasquet is not well liked on MTF. I like him of course, as does the rest of his fans. But still.. lots of people here generally dislike him.
