That's the problem though, I see him playing DC and every time I wonder how the hell he isn't in the top 100.

After watching the Davis Cup match against Ito, I have several things to say:
He has nearly 0 talent. Sad, but true. The shotmaking ability isnt that good, not enough consistency to be a good player, doesnt have a good backhand. Ito however, is atrocious.
The good thing which can be said about Amir is that he has a deceptively excellent serve. He does place it quite well all over the box, I would actually say that his serve might be in the top 10 current serves on the ATP tour. He has a much better serve than most top 100 players.
Still, good win for him!
That's a bit harsh. There are worse shotmakers than him in the top 100. Forehand needs a bit of work, agreed, but still harsh. What he lacks I think is a killer instinct. He's way too sweet and cuddly and respectful to everyone. And he seems to be a team player, he needs people to create atmosphere for him, when he's alone on the otur he lacks something.
I watched him against Bautista in USO Q (lost 6-7 6-7) and his bh was magnificent. Too bad the fh is not up to scratch.
His nerves are pretty French too.
