I don't know what Chardy did in the offseason, but the statistics in his first two matches of 2011 are beyond awful. He is heading towards a 1st round aussie exit against a competent opponent.

i'm aware he hasnt beaten him but he's for sure capable of doing it. his h2h is 3-0 in fed's favour but he has always struggled a lot against him. andreev likes to moonball with heavy topspin, much like nadal.

yes, but unlike Rafa he has no defense, his BH makes Roger's look awesome and he's a mental midget

Nope.

It's very similar to Nadull's.

I wonder how clownish Chardy was to lose to Mugdreev.

Re: Sydney R1: Andreev def. Chardy 6-2 6-4

Chardy starting 2011 as he did 2010.

I do agree with others here, though...on a very good day he can justify top 50, but generally I don't think he is a particularly good player. I remember my first glimpse of him when he beat an injured Fat Dave at the French Open (2008?), and, to me, he was little more than a reckless ball basher with very little patience or ability to construct a decent point. I haven't seen much of him since, but certainly my opinion of him hasn't changed much.

Expected one, chardy is poop.

Juan Martin Del Potro

But he lost 23 times against you.
's right. We have to also throw into the mix. But I do not think it is currently the decisive factor. But he has achieved in my opinion too much. Maybe this is crucial if I move him even closer after major victories. But 14 or 17 Grand Slam titles is a significant difference. At the present time there is no question that he must be the greater player than me.
