Who will suffer the most from Australian Open 2011

Who will lose the more points and ranking after AO?

Federer 2000 pts
Murray 1300 pts
Tsonga 720 pts
Cilic 720 pts
Nadal 360 pts
Djokovic 360 pts
Roddick 360 pts
Davydenko 360 pts
Hewitt 180 pts
Verdasco 180 pts
Kubot 180 pts
Almagro 180 pts
Gonzalez 180 pts
DelPotro 180 pts
Isner 180 pts
Karlovic 180 pts

I fear the worst for Cilic, Gonzalez, DelPotro. I hope the worst for Tsonga, Roddick, Almagro, Isner.

Re: Who will suffer the most from Australian Open 2011

Good thread. I think Murray will, just because his last loss was crushing (as was his loss at the USO) and at #5 he won't have enough time to recover his A game. Tsonga obviously will, he's shown nothing to prove he should even make the second week of a slam.

Oh and I forgot to mention Cilic, but that's obvious.

I think the darkhorse and the one to gain the most will be Isner. He's going to be the semifinalist this year, you heard it hear first.

The MTF servers.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Machado wins 6-2 6-1

dont know about ranking but i think fed will lose the most points, i dont see him winning this years ao and as far as im concerned murray should at least make it to the semis again. clownga and mugic will be blown out early in the tournament but still go far enough to defend some points

On the opposite I think Soderling will make a huge step to the 3rd spot of ATP ranking.

Re: Who will suffer the most from Australian Open 2011

Murray can only lose 1200 not 1300. It sounds obvious, but I think Federer or Murray will lose the most points. Because going from winner to finalist loses you 800, more than going semi-finalist to 1st round loser!

Re: Who will suffer the most from Australian Open 2011

Obviously Cilic!
Think Murray will loose some as well.

Gael Monfils, Robin Söderling, Florian Mayer, Ernests Gulbis, Elias Ymer, Richard Gasquet, Roger Federer

Re: Who will suffer the most from Australian Open 2011

I think Federer will lose the most. Anything short of the championship means at least -700 points.

Of all the players who made the QFs last year, Cilic is the most obvious player who will not return this year. Followed by Roddick and Tsonga I think.

Re: Who will suffer the most from Australian Open 2011

Cilic without a doubt
Sadly Gonzalez and Del Potro
Probably Murray because he'll be the #5 seed
