WWW Brisbane Final: Soderilng (1) vs. Roddick (2)

They've played five times and Soderling leads 3-2. Soderling has only beaten Roddick indoors (Memphis, Lyon 2008 and Paris 2010), the American has won both their outdoor hard meetings (Indian Wells and Cincinnati 2010).

It'll be good to see a top 8 match-up this year before the Australian Open quarter-finals.

The match starts after a noon doubles match, so should be around 2:00pm local time. A lot on the line for Soderling here, if he wins he gets the #4 Australian Open seed, finally enabling him to avoid Nadal and Federer before the semis of a Slam. He has played Nadal or Federer before the semis of 6 of the last 7 slams!

(no poll because there's another thread already)

Not bothered either way, would prefer soderling purely on the bases that murray will then be ranked 5 for the AO and will meet a top seed prior to the semis.

's right. We have to also throw into the mix. But I do not think it is currently the decisive factor. But he has achieved in my opinion too much. Maybe this is crucial if I move him even closer after major victories. But 14 or 17 Grand Slam titles is a significant difference. At the present time there is no question that he must be the greater player than me.

Could go either way i think, a point here and there will decide. I'll go with Robin in 3 close sets.

I'm going to stick with Soderling in 3, but it is a real toss-up (between world #5 and world #8)
All depends on how well both guys serve though.

Soder's just too powerful right now. He swallows the duck in 2 huge gulps and then burps loudly
