Brisbane QF: Soderling (1) d. Ebden (Q) 6-3 6-2

Too heavy from the Swede who goes onto to face Stepanek in the semi-finals. I was impressed with Ebden, he looked calm even when things went against him.

For those who watched the match: did the out call in the middle of the 2nd set come before or after Ebden hit the ball?

Slow, steady, and hellishly powerful wins the race.

Ebden played pretty well, but a few loose points on serve here and there cost him.

Before. I would have ordered the point to be replayed if I had been the umpire.
That said, my initial reaction was that Ebden thought it was out too and might have challenged it had it not been called out by the linesman. But that is something neither I nor the ump can be sure of, so a replay would've been the fair call.

I thought Robin played really bad and he didn't move well at all. He must step it up if he wants to win this!

Good playing.
I for one have never seen Ebden before, i was quite impressed by the guy. Could've been tighter scorewise. I'd like to see him play a few more times!

Gael Monfils, Robin Söderling, Florian Mayer, Ernests Gulbis, Elias Ymer, Richard Gasquet, Roger Federer

This was a very good week for Ebden overall coming from the quallies to reach QF here. If I am not wrong his victory over Istomin is the best one of his career

Ebden impressed me. From what is to gather in interview snippets I like his attitude as well.
