I'm fascinated by this one.
Davydenko dominates the head-to-head 5-1, and has beaten Ivo twice before in Doha...including last year, in two tiebreaks would you believe?!
When the ball is in play, it is obviously a no-brainer, and for the most part Kolya has looked sharp in the rallies this week.
However, the serve is something else. Ivo has served his two opponents off the court this week, and his serving percentages are similar to when he was at the peak of his playing abilities a couple of years ago. Can he keep this up? If so, he could feasibly edge out a win, especially as Kolya is known to have the occasional yip on serve/momentary lapse of concentration...that happened twice against Nieminen today, and on a couple of occasions he even rolled the next serve in just to avoid another df.
Is Ivo's body ready for another tough match, so soon into his comeback?
A lot of questions...
