Mayer was solid and clinical.

A few flashes of his deceptive shots.

tomic has slightly improved since the last time i saw him play but his movement is on del potro level (del potro get away with it due to his anticipation). mayer was solid and didn't let tomic get into the match at all.

That was fugly.

Tomic hardly won a point on Mayer's serve. He would've been better off going through qualies.

Credit to Mayer though, he played well.

Is Tomic saying "Goodbye wildcard to AO" by this loss?

Mayer lost 3 points on serve, and two of those were close to the end when he was up 40-0.

I was watching this match early when Tomic called for the trainer at the next changeover. What was the issue?

Was at the game... Tomic was pretty awful. Mayer completely outplayed him.

All the stuffing around leading into this tournament really told today. He should of went through the qualies instead of wondering "Will I get a WC into the MD or won't I?"
