Sure. Let's not put the kid down before he's even started. He might be reading this for one thing. We all know how influential MTF must be to players afterall. Could even mean the difference between greatness and mediocrity.

Don't know how well he'll do, but I certainly hope he produces far greater than his relatively low promise. I'm going to be positive and say he'll achieve more than the majority of us think.

So someone recently informed me that my sig was empty. Said I needed a life affirming motivational quote by a positive role model like Einstein or Oscar Wilde...

Great tip to stay fit and mobile: If you run up and down the stairs two steps at a time at least once daily, there will never come a time when you can't do it. Until of course one day you mistime a step, collapse and break all your bones... That would suck. But you had a good run.

Re: Do you think Mike Vermeer has got a future in tennis world?

Vermeer will forever be able to play Davis Cup, given the lack of players from Luxembourg. This is the same country which had the tennis instructor get triple bagelled by Murray. Given his lack of height, I'm not really surprised he moved on from the tour.

Andy Murray: 2012 Olympic gold and silver medalist. US Open Champ. Wimbledon champ. Never been prouder of him.

The Brian Baker Story. Proof that truth is stranger than fiction... until Hollywood buys the rights and proceeds to keep screwing the script up.

Re: Do you think Mike Vermeer has got a future in tennis world?

He hasn't got a future, because he decided that himself.

Talented boy, no doubt. Was the hunger there, though? I'm not sure.

I think it says a bit about him that he decided to call it quits. On the one hand he's smart. There was a 95% chance he wouldn't make that decent a sum of money, so going to further his education, move on up etc. was a wise choice. Good luck to him. However quitting at a young-ish age is a little defeatist for me. Maybe he could have given more to tennis, and perhaps tennis would have given more to him.

Just my thoughts. As I said, good luck to Mike in whatever he does next!
