Plans for Aussie Open 2011?

So as we all know in 20 days the Australian Open 2011 starts. What are everyone's plans for the tournament, sessions you're going to, live stream, etc.

I wish I could go to the open but sadly I'm going to be reduced to staying up until like 4:00 a.m. watching the matches of players I like (i.e. Nadal!).

Of all the Grand Slams the Aussie is by far the hardest to watch. It isn't covered much at all by tv stations in USA Eastern time zone, because of the difference of time. I don't even think the finals are covered on tv. Last year I had to watch Federer will on a fucking live score updater.

So what are your plans this year?

I'll be watching it on my TV instead of crappy livestreams for once. Relaxing with a few beers during evening matches. No more waking up in the middle of the night like I did for the USO.

Sometimes I don't agree with you.
But that was SO COOL. And I'll do the same of you.

Ah, appeal moderation? Wanna know what appeal moderation did to me?
LOOK AT ME!
LOOK AT ME, BOY! THESE ARE THE SCARS OF APPEAL MODERATION!
Take a good long stare, you know you want to.
You're not even man enough to look at my face.

Appeal moderation isn't pretty, you have to watch your friends go to dust.
Appeal moderation is always hungry for your soul and sweet emotions.

First and once godly-worhispped appeal moderator.

Where on earth do you live? ESPN2 covers AO in the evenings from I think the first round. There's nothing else on in the US at 10pm in the evenings anyway

Re: Plans for Aussie Open 2011?

Real pita watching from Europe - last few years I have got stuck watching classic late night matches that went insanely long though, going to sleep at 6am hurts the next day :-)

Seems eurosportplayer have online multicourt coverage, guess I'll subscribe to that for the month.

Re: Plans for Aussie Open 2011?

I'll try to catch a few hours coverage each day before I go off to work. No more pulling all-nighters. Eurosport's coverage of the AO is excellent (in stark contrast to what they are limited to at French and US Opens)...they have access to a number of courts, and you get to see snippets of a good number of matches. The time difference is a killer, but it's only for 10 days.

I'm intending to travel over there in 3-5 years time, which is something I am very much looking forward to. Hopefully I won't be disappointed...

Re: Plans for Aussie Open 2011?

I'll be watching online and on ESPN2; the West Coast time zone in the USA is a lot more convenient for watching the Australian Open than is the East Coast (though it's awful for the French Open).

So, day sessions will start here at 4:00 PM, and night sessions at midnight. I'll watch what I can around classes, etc.
