Can the Frenchies take it to the next level?

Their fans on this board seem to suffer a lot of pangs.

Who do you think will be the next Yannick Noah?

Gasquet?
Tsonga?
Monfils?
Gasquet?
Mathieu?
Simon?
Gasquet?
Llodra?

Immense potential. Little to show for it. Will all that change?

None of them. I haven't notice a noteworthy youngster neither.

RAFAEL NADAL PARERA

Career HIGHLIGHTS

2007|David Nalbandian strikes lucky to win against Rafael Nadal 6-4 6-0
2008|Mikhail Youzhny escapes Rafael Nadal 6-1 6-0
2008|Jo-Wilfried Tsonga was pushed to the edge by Rafael Nadal 6-2 6-3 6-2
2009|Juan Martin Del Potro survives Rafael Nadal 6-2 6-2 6-2

BEST RESULTS ARE YET TO COME....

none of them, i'm afraid.

clownga is probabably the one with the most potential but he ain't that good to win a GS, imo.

Don't think that you can ever rule out Tsonga having an amazing couple of weeks like AO08 again.

I also don't think you could rule out Monfils having a miraculous Roland Garros one year if he got an exceedingly good draw. Same as Gasquet with Wimbledon.

However do I think any of the above is likely at all......

Malheureusement, none of them.

Tsonga has everything to win a GS but his game has been watered down to a pushing style. A real joke.

Tsonga's case really hurts the most. He came close. What is really ironic is that post AO 08, he actually tamed Djokovic. Too late.

Oh god I would love for Gasquet to win Wimbledon. That tard doesn't seem to get just how good he can be on that surface. He is pissing his talent away. Monfils can never be counted out at RG (as long as Nadal is not in top form). Who knows what a motivated Tsonga can do at the AO or UO You can bin the rest IMO.

I remember saying that about Soderling.

Anything can happen in tennis. Can't rule out anything really. It's incredibly unlikely but stranger things have happened.

Both Tsonga and Monfils did very well -raising French expectations in 2008. But it stopped there.

Tsonga however might be a case of bad luck. Because he can think on court. But Monfils is a case of utter clowning and wasting away of concentration. He's going to end like a slamless version of Roddick.
Hard work without head work = zero dividends.

Had to look that up. Yes. French irony.

OK, Soda did it, but he can be a killer on his days. Can you imagine Nadal going down against Fabio Fognini, that would be incredibly unlikely.
