Tennis is more popular or not globally?

We can discuss whether tennis is more popular for current 15 years.
In my view, women's tennis becomes much more popular and has been NO1 women's sports.
but men's tennis also improve a lot, but not too much.

pls give your opinion.

Re: Tennis is more popular or not globally?

main problem of women tennis is stereotyped play and uncharismatic players. But some very popular figures can make it the very first sport for women, like Sharapova, Williams and Clijsters. Sharapova is the most well-paid female athlete of history.
I think that, to make it more popular, tennis should have champions from India and China, because it is hard to get involved in a sport in which you don't have great athletes.

We might need Samjones to discuss football in this thread.
