Re: have you ever been in a GS qualy?

I have attended many many Australian Open qualifying matches. In Melbourne it is free to attend during the qualifying week and anyone can just walk into Melbourne Park sit down and watch. Unless your of a certain standard of tennis you wouldn't notice a huge amount of difference between them or say Federer, I can notice the difference though. All the matches are best of three sets and the draw is the same size as the main draw. Usually the men start on a Tuesday and the Women start on a Monday. They don't play any of the matches on the big courts, just the smaller ones. That is about all I can tell you unless you have any specific questions?

I believe everyone is missing the question. I think he means have you ever BEEN IN as in been a part of the qualifying draw of a grand slam before

don't think so RHR... just that his English put it that way.. but look at his follow-up questions and comments.. he's looking to attend

"When I'm asked, how is it to be around Federer, and what is he really like, I always reply, "I wish people could meet him when cameras or an audience aren't around, as he is one of the nicest people I have ever met when stringing on tour. " -- drakulie

you can easily get front row seats on the outside courts, meaning the players will be only a few meters away. but they wont pose for pics with you. its straight back to the locker room after the match, surrounded by security dudes.
