Re: Paris R2: Roddick defeats Nieminen 6-1 6-4

Nieminen looked pretty much like a zombie in the first set. Nothing worked, the heavy schedule has taken its toll. In the second set Nieminen was dominating the rallies, but lost one break to poor serving, and didn't manage to break back. Andy served well & took a routine victory as Jarkko just couldn't perform his best.

Re: Paris R2: Roddick defeats Nieminen 6-1 6-4

Roddick was really good there, not making too many errors, Jarkko also had much trouble with Roddicks second serve, since when kick serving ball took high bounce from court they were playing. Jarkko on the other hand was horrible in first, serving bad and hitting bad, loosing all longer rallies really. In second Jarkko served much better and modified his gameplan. He went pretty much all out attack, which was his only chance here really since he was still too often one making mistake in longer rallies. But honestly way Jarkko was playing today he was bound to loose, he just wasn't able to win enough points when he didn't have edge from his first serve.

Expected. He looked tired against Malisse already, of course he couldn't beat a grinder like Roddick.

Roddick did what he had to do, Nieminen looked gone out there.

Looking forward to Roddick vs Gulbis next round, will be an interesting one.

Too bad. Jarkko wasn't a good enough returner today. But it's understandable, he's played heaps of matches lately.
