WWW Paris Rd 2: Federer Vs Gasquet

Blockbuster second round match here. If Gasquet can bring his best to this encounter he certainly could trouble Roger. Will Federer be tired from Basel and not give a shit about this tournament, previous results indicates he doesn't care but if he is going after the top ranking again he could this event a serious go for once?

Can Gasquet step it up and get a huge win in front of his home crowd, he really needs a big win to get his confidence back and to get some momentum going again on tour?

So who will win, I'm going with Federer in 3 but would love to be proven wrong.

If Federer cares, he'll take it comfortably in 2.

I reckon Fed will stay in the tournament as long as he doesn't get put into a tight spot and has to expend too much energy getting out of it, so if Gasquet can keep him under pressure he has a chance. Otherwise Fed in 2.

Will Federer regain the #1 spot and break Sampras's record for most weeks at the top?

I just hope that both will play well, so that I can enjoy my two guys. Given the recent past, Roger is the favourite, but some of their encounters were damned close - at a time when Roger was in his prime.

Richard has nothing to lose, but probably something to prove to his homecrowd. Roger is playing so well lately, clearly better than Djokovic, and second only to Nadal who is not there. Richard can take one set i think, but he should play a damn good good match!

Head says Federer, faulty hippocampus says Gasquet.

Roger lost to Benny last year, wouldn't be surprised if Richie pulls the upset there but I'm going with the Swiss in straight sets

Rafael "The Matador of Spin" Nadal
Roger “The Magician of Precision” Federer
Del Potro, Ferrer, Haas, Zeballos

Re: WWW Paris Rd 2: Federer Vs Gasquet

yes, my two favorites: a win-win-situation for me. if federer isn't tired and plays like he has since wimbledon, he should win this in 2. paris is the only masters were federer hasn't been in final, maybe this time he will take the tournament more seriously (i hope)

Considering Gasquet struggled against Mahut yesterday and Fed's current form, I say Roger destroys Gasquet easily in two.
