They will NOT win a Grand Slam

Which of these guys will not win a Grand Slam, whatever they try. Hatred and rancor welcome.
Multiple choice possible, you can even select them all if you want

None of them will win a grand slam. Maybe Soderling, but even that is doubtful.

Re: They will NOT win a Grand Slam

I see you added a poll after my post.

All of them. Monfils has the biggest chance of catching fire for 2 weeks in my opinion, but it's still an extremely negligible chance.

Re: They will NOT win a Grand Slam

Murray has a real chance to win a GS title. let's face it: Nadal will not win all the Grand Slams til the end of time, some actual players other than Nadal & Federer will win a GS title sooner or later. and most probably an actual top player and not a muggy 19-year old around the rank 150.

I did not added Cilic because it is uncertain if he will collapse or confirm in 2011. did not added the more than 26-year old players, because it will be probably too hard for them to peak now. and jokes like Isner, Troicki and Simon are not considered either.

So, basically, because you think Murray will win a slam, you did not even include him in the poll? What is this, your personal blog?

But you included Almugro, Baggy and Querrey? Really poor poll choices.

Isn't the point of the poll to discuss who will definitively not win a slam? I.e you'd bet your life on it. I don't think you can put Murray in that category. Maybe he won't win a slam but he definitely has a chance to.

we're talking of the never-win-a-slam guys in a career. so, yes, Baggy, Ritchie, Sammy, they all qualify

Firstly, the poll includes slam finalists, so no. Secondly, if that really was the case, then the poll would only be about guys outside of the top 50 - and the thread would be even more pointless than it is now.

As does Ty Dilello, myself, world #809 Oliver Marach... and Andy Murray, seeing how these guys have never won a slam. [/discussion]

Re: They will NOT win a Grand Slam

Soderling, Tsonga and Berdych have shown they have the game to win a GS, however for all 3 their mental side has perhaps let them down.

Everyone besides them 3.

Re: They will NOT win a Grand Slam

but they have a chance, or they were considered at a time to have a chance, and some of them reached semi-finals and even final. but it's a thing to reach a final, it is another one to face Federer/Nadal, which is 99% of the time.
the point of the poll is to know which ones have no chance as of today to win a slam.

I am thinking that Gulbis might be a late bloomer on the mental side (like Robin and Tomas), so in my book he has a shot, too. Otherwise I pretty much agree though I included Tsonga in my vote. Lately he's not lived up to his potential, but who knows what'll happen.
