TIPSAREVIC SETS FEDERER CLASH

Janko Tipsarevic won on his Basel debut.
Serbian Janko Tipsarevic will face three-time former champion and top seed Roger Federer in the second round of the Swiss Indoors Basel after winning his opening match against Denis Istomin 6-2, 6-4 at the ATP World Tour 500 indoor hard court tennis tournament Tuesday.

World No. 46 Tipsarevic, who is making his main draw debut in Basel, broke serve three times from four opportunities to seal his 25th tour-level match win of the season in 74 minutes. The 26-year-old is coming off a quarter-final showing in St. Petersburg and reached his second career ATP World Tour final in ’s-Hertogenbosch (l. to Stakhovsky) in June.

Unbelievable! Federer will play his R2 match before Berdych plays his R1 match, talk about stupid!

Tipsarevic plays well against Federer, Tipsarevic in 3.

The better the opponent, the better Tipsy plays. He took the Fed to 5 sets at Wimbledon a while back. Should be an interesting match.

Re: www: federer vs. tipsarevic

Tipsy seems to do well against Federer - remember 3rd round of the Australian Open, 2008?

My pick is Roger in 3.

They've only played two matches, and only one was close. Hardly enough to be conclusive.

Tipsarevic plays well against the big guys. I wouldn't be surprised if he beats roger, But I'll be surprised if he reaches the SF.

It was AO 08.

Anyway, I say Federer in 2. 7-5 6-4.
