Wawrinka mugged it out.

Seppi was 4-2 and 5-3 up in 1st, then he was trailing a break in 2nd, broke back and immediately gave it back @ 5-5

What a clownish 1st set, 50 ues combined, just unreal . Wawrinka would have lost 60 that set against anyone half decent but Seppi managed to even lose it

Stan has been doing well of late. Good for him.

Can someone tell me why Wawrinka is playing here and not in Basel?

Blick reported that he asked for more fee money than Basel were prepared to pay.

Yep but still, I'm disappointed that the tournament could not have offered him a little more (I presume they are forking out considerably for Federer, Djokovic and Roddick) and also disappointed that Stan snubbed his home tournament. Valencia would have had to offer him considerably more, I think - otherwise why fly out abroad when you could have taken a short car trip to Basel?

As has been said before, Wawrinka probably prefers the slower surface of Valencia anyway.

It's because he doesn't want to humiliate Federer, he's a classy guy.

Because he is a loser and is always living in other players shadows. He doesnt have what Roger has. Instead he is generic and Robotic. If he goes to Basel again i hope the crowd booes him off the court. Roger carried him to a Olympic gold medal, he has always been rogers little bitch, never good enough to beat him. About the match...meh who the fuck cares
