Vienna R2: Almagro def. Giraldo7-6(4) (3)6-7 6-3

Well Giraldo served for the first set and choked badly, lost the tiebreak
2nd set was same story for Almagro... Giraldo was hitting a ton of backhand winners down the line
Both guys served well but Almagro was just mentally stronger, I feel like Giraldo played better

Nooooo Santi

Oh well, at least he put up a fight, and Almagro is a decent player who I also like, so I'm not too upset.

Also supporting known chokers Verdasco, Lopez and Monaco

They let him play tennis once after they saw his "consistency is everything" advertisement.

Maybe 4 or 5 if he wants to get more of a workout in.

Close, oh so close. Ah well, I respect Almagro's talent, even if they don't always show. Hopefully Giraldo will be able to keep his top 100 ranking once the South American clay swing comes around.

If at first you don't succeed, lower your standards.

Lots of big serving and hard hitting in this match. Almagro served for the match in the second, and Giraldo served for the set in the first. Both guys had their good and poor moments, the main difference was the experience and slightly better consistency and mental strength for the Spaniard. Congrats to him on the victory.
