Montpellier R1: Nieminen def. Serra 6-7(4) 7-5 6-1

No thread ?

Serra was 7-6 5-3 up and serving for a set, had one matchpoint and was broken twice in a row.

Good way to get rid of a pigeon status and Niemo's form continues

Another typical chokejob by a Frenchman, what else is new?

Karma is a bitch, Jarkko paid him back for than painful loss at the AO where Serra saved a match point in the 4th set with a terrific volley if my memory doesn´t fail me

Serra choked big time! Nieminen looks so old, so weak, and tired... it will be so easy for Richard

LOL at the 2nd set, breaks and counterbreaks, Serra serves at *5-4 with MP and loses lol

Yes, it was a volley that Edberg would have been proud of. Never a bad day when Serra loses.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Another good win against a tough match-up for Jarkko. Hopefully he manages to keep it up in the next round, just for the sake of this Blackbriar dude

Jarkko is king these days.

Imo more painful was the forehand drive volley chance by Jarkko on his first(?) mp in the 4th. Incredible luck for the ugly French. This volley winner was in the tb or even in the fifth?!

You don't like Serra?

I think he is alright. He doesn't have an interesting game, but he compensates for that with his choking talents. I find him a bit unpredictable, and I wouldn't say that is a bad thing.

Florent, even compared to your usual choker status, you are falling to pieces.

Expected victory for Jarkko. Serra has not been playing well almost the whole year long.
