Novak already showed enough consistency to challenge Fed/Nadal, has more titles and showed better results in stronger era. The only thing missing is more slams, but they'll come in 2011-2012.
No.

Safin's actual era of players i.e. Federer, Nalby, Hewitt, A-Rod, is better than Djokovic's era of players (Del Potro, Murray, Nadal)

This era is fucking shit, except on hardcourts where there's some depth. Both clay and grass are dead and you'd be silly to deny that.

Yes. More variety, more overall skill and most importantly, more grand slams. Even if you took Fedal out of the equation, the former STILL has more grand slams and weeks at number one. To make it fair even if I add Cilic into the latter's group it only backs this up.

Roddick and Hewitt? More variety and skill and Slams? Where are these players nowadays when they are so good?

Both of you please stop trolling. Both have been well in decline since 2007, its a well known fact that both were much better at their peak and when Safin was playing competitvely. Its funny that these guys are there and abouts in everyslam (roddick final of wimby and regulary making semis and Quarters), both these guys are retiring by 2012, so i dont see what your logic is.

Had novak been playing in 2002, he would have been nothing compared to these guys. The amount of historic wins and moments shits on anything Novak has done so far. Roddick still has Novak for dinner anyway.

@ vidas dumb Nalby remark. The only guy eating chops with dave is Baggy

Past it. Hewitt's been past it since 2006, he burnt out and suffered injuries, while Roddick changed his game to a pusher when in 2004 he had both a huge serve and a huge forehand.

Hewitt does have some variety, he might be a grinder, but he at least has excellent volleys and net game. However he peaked earlier. His peak he was like a Murray but he absorbed big hitters and attackers better and was much more mentally tougher.

Of course, those two are obviously less varied compared to Fed/Nalby/Safin. Then again you've made it clear you hate grasscourts and therefore volleying/net tennis.

Re: Djokovic will win a slam in 2011

There were many, many Djokovic fans around here at 2008 . Many of them were irritating ,but there was one guy with the nick Branimir who was top of the list. He got some sign with : Nole will win Wimbledoon and Golden Slam this year
He was so irritating (and Federer hater) it was beating the likes of Farenhajt and Aloimeh.
And that is something not so easy to achieve!
Sadly noone of these hater stars is still around ( at least not with that nick), probably healing the wounds. It is dificult to see that three years from then the player you loved, you followed and you believed will be probably the best in the game for years to come , remained nothing more than One Slam Wonder.

So speaking of that, we will probably witness around this time next year, that this thread was just a non sence.

I really wonder which of the aforementioned three "stars" of MTF is the one who started this thread.

what a garbage post.

if you are going to slate posters, do it right. or better dont do it at all since you havent been here at the time.

beside that, there is more than enough reasons for this thread to stand, since after federer and nadal, djokovic is the player with biggest chances to win slams in the future. looking at numbers there is no argument against that claim.
