Poll: Is Nadal still going to burn out before age 30?

In 2008 and much of 2009, and again after the 2010 Australian Open grand slam, a lot of pundits thought Nadals style of game had finally caught up to him, and that he was basically going to burn out by age 26 at the latest.

Yet in 2010, he played some wild ass scheduling, all the clay tournaments, heck even doubles a lot of the time as well.

He hasn't shown too many serious injuries since.

Is it possible Nadals previous injuries could have just been bad luck? Or do people think it's only a matter of time before he ends up on the casualty list?

Do you think he can remain a force at slams until at least age 29, which is what Federer is now? If so, thats one long ass career.

I think he can do it. I think his bigger worry is guys like Del Potro coming back to be honest.

"I did not play my best tennis, no? And..that is what enable him to win..to win this match no? "

- Rafael Nadal, ever so "humble", - press conference after shock 4 set loss to Robeen Soderling @ 2009 French Open 4th round.

He'll keep having "career threatening" injuries but recover against all odds.

Nadal's style is no longer as demanding as it once was. His serve is now legitly huge, and he is shortening the points with flatter groundstrokes.

That, and his smarter scheduling is helping him.

I only fear his upcoming schedule. Bangkok, Tokyo, and Shanghai all in a row so soon after a huge mental and physical USO.

He's actually quite healthy, it's just the knees that is the problem. Nothing he can do about that except schedule smarter and tank more tournaments.

I'd be surprised if he wins a title after 25. In fact, I will change my name. Oh wait. I already lost a bet and did that.

What a clownish thread. He has already burned out. This Nadal is a shadow of himself at the age of 12.
He even lost a set to some serbian journeyman in his last match. One word: retire.

Mardy Fish!

Brian Baker - Steve Johnson - Lleyton Hewitt - Carlos Berlocq - Tommy Haas - Ivo Karlovic - Richard Gasquet - Kevin Anderson - David Ferrer - Michael Russell - Fabio Fognini - Dustin Brown - Somdev Devvarman

I know it's amazing After having a career threatening injury and looking like he'd never be the same again, he recovers to peak form, wins the USO, and increases his serve speed by 10-15 mph, all by skipping Barcalona Maybe at Barcalona they beat his knees in the locker room, can't think of another way he could have such a miraculous comeback! (well I can, but...)

Make fun all you want but what goes up comes down. Here is what I say to Nadal fans. Prepare for years of abuse once your god starts slipping. And it will happen. Sooner rather than later someone is going to grow a pair of balls and play the right way against Nadal with belief. Nadal is a very good player with a huge amount of luck.

30 is giving him too much. Everyone begins to fade by 30 (no matter how efficient your game is eg. Federer, Sampras). Some might argue that Nadal's decline will start much earlier due to his "intense" game.

I don't hope.. and to be honest I don't care.

But it does take a crazy zombie fan-boy to overlook all the chronic injuries Nadal has been carrying since a very young age.

Will Rafa burn out before age 30 and give mercy to his haters?

If you pray hard enough anything is possible
