Predictions for the Indoor season? Will Rafa dominate?

We only have Shanghai and Bercy along with the ATP500s Basel Tokyo and Beijing left. We also have the final mini Grand Slam: the WTF in London.

Will Rafa dominate indoors like he dominated the entire 2010? (Nadal was injured at the AO) I don't recall Rafa doing very well during the indoors season but the US Open momentum might push him to win WTF finally.

What chances does Roger Federer have this indoor season? Will he lose to Djokovic again at Basel? I see this 2010 indoor season to have chances for Djokovic and Soldering and Del Petro if he comes back as the hard indoors benefit hard hitters while I don't see Federer winning a single title before the end of the year.

Thoughts?

Shanghai is an outdoor tournament. And Nadal will not be a standout of the indoor season.

Soderling, fed, djovic even Nalbandian will be my picks for the indoor season the favorites in that order too I would put Rafa in too but his form in the indoors for the past two season doesn't really inpires me but then again he's mastered all the other surfaces so there is a chance for him.

I think he should keep experimenting and playing at 70% in the next couple tournaments and then take a good crack at WTF. The goal is to stay healthy for the Australian open to complete Rafa Slam.

My guess is that he will treat the rest of the season lightly and will focus on London - the only title that he lacks. At least that would be reasonable. But who knows with this beast

It will be interresting to watch biggest tournaments- Masters 1000 in Shaghai which is played on Decoturf and outdoor just like US and Paris with fast indoor surface from the same company that make Taraflex. WTF is played on Greenset - if Nadal will serve like on Us open he has chances to win 2 of those 3 events- 1 event will be sure won bye someone other- Roger, Novak, Andy or Soderling... But Nadal i think will earn most points in part of season after Us open closing with WTF London.

I agree with the posters saying he should try to peak for WTF. He mentioned in his presser that this was the only thing eluding him now, so he is thinking about it. He has two semis out of three, lost to Federer both times. Then obviously he didn't win a match last year, but we can't put any stock in that thankfully. Atleast he shouldn't lose any significant points for the rest of the year and may even gain.

Nadal has 12,000 points. Djo + Fed combined have 13,000 points. Fed + Murray have 11,700 points. Rafa doesnt need to go crazy after points. Play the next tournaments at 70% and keep improving. Then take a whack at the WTF - lot of points to gain there.

Then comes the Biggie - the australian Open for the Rafa Slam. That would be the time to put everything on the line and go for broke. Then take a holiday and play at 70% again at IW and Miami. Then wrap up the clay season, win wimbledon and take a break. Then play easy in toronto + cinci and take another crack at the USO. Gosh I just lived a whole year in one paragraph

LOL

hes got zero chance of indoor glory unless he's given another "spanish" draw

Nadal was not injured at the AO. He was down 2 sets before he got injured, so let's not rewrite history.

He ought to do reasonably well in Bangkok, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Paris, and peak for the WTF.

Re: Predictions for the Indoor season? Will Rafa dominate?

It's a well know fact Nadal was injured at AO. He said so himself after the match.

No one trying to re-write anything, but its pretty clear Rafa would probably had won AO if he was in US Open form and beat murray.
