Uncle Toni vs Srdjan Djokovic -Who would you rather have in your box?

The true battle won't be on the court, but will be in the stands, as we see the ultimate showdown between the two of the most high profile figure in tennis supporting history.

In one corner, Uncle Toni Nadal, famous for illegally coaching from the box and being very popular in Paris.

On the other side, Daddy Djokovic, Serbian fashion icon:

Novak's parents are vile and those t-shirts the creepiest thing ever.

But Uncle Toni is like one of those weird, preachy, "uncles" who spends a bit too much time lurking around playgrounds, play-acting the "coach" role and being a "daddy" figure to young sports boys.

I'll take Vera Zvonerva's "hitting partner", Sergey Demekhine - add him to the list and he'll win by a mile:

Re: Uncle Toni vs Srdjan Djokovic -Who would you rather have in your box?

I find Nole to be more likable than Rafa.

However, Srdjan Djokovic is the major obstacle for me to fully enjoy Nole's games. He is even prouder than Novak himself, which doesn't make sense because those are his son's achievements, not his! He always has a hostile and arrogant air about him (unlike Nole, who is arrogant but friendly), and he cheer at every unforced error of the opponent. He is the Yuri Sharapov on men's tour, only more lamentable because Novak is 100 times more likable than Sharapova.

Toni Nadal is not Robert Federer, but he is a legendary tennis coach (something neither Robert nor Srdjan is), and a plain-speaking philosopher. I'd much, much rather have Toni Nadal in my box.

Quantitatively, in terms of likableness:

Robert Federer = 10
Novak Djokovic = 8
Rafael Nadal = 7
Toni Nadal = 7
Roger Federer = 6
Maria Sharapova = 4
Yuri Sharapov = 2
Srdjan Djokovic = 1

Tennis has Great Games & Great Personalities.

We also have Andy Murray.

Yeah I noticed him too. Bet she lets him hit her on a regular basis.

Nice analysis.
The problem with Federer's box is Robert and Mirka are always with some vapid celebrity that is friends with Roger. I mean Gwen Stefani, really? At least the Djokovic family scares off obnoxious hanger ons.

Though as far as celebrity hanger-ons go, I think the French players have the advantage, as the Thierry Henry cameo was one of the few good things about Mugfils' US Open campaign.

Ouch... I have to go with the Djokovic box, but only if Miljan is included and I get to be stretched and massaged afterward by Miljan.

No Miljan, no deal. Neither.

Thanks! And I agree with you. I think Gwen Stefani is in Federer's box as a sort of testimony to Federer's 'fashion sense', which has evolved from laughable (pre-2003) to a brand name of its own. It's just like another golden 'RF' jacket or man purse.

Overall, I'd much have Rafael's box than anyone else's. But historically the box that trumps all other boxes is Andre Agassi's box circa 2000, containing one person only:
Stefanie Maria Graf .

Tennis has Great Games & Great Personalities.

We also have Andy Murray.

Even though,I haven't a clue what he's saying I find Srdjan kind of likeable in this video. He doesn't seem hostile at all and it's worth checking out just for the Novak childhood pics(the 1st pics are of Srdjan but after that they're of Nole:
