Federers USO aura is being slightly overrated

I've been hearing a little bit about how Rafa should have beaten Federer at th USO since he is the man to beat over there and that it is his best surface.

There's no doubt that Federer had a very strong dominance at the USO and it was his longest Grand Slam streak.

However, let's keep a couple of things in mind

-The USO was only touted as his strongest surface AFTER Rafa ended his streak at Wimbledon. Until then, Wimbledon was considered as Federers back garden.

-Federers USO streak was already halted last year by Del Potro. Beating Federer at the USO is a big achievement, but not a new one.

Again, Federer is a huge USO scalp (and it took something special from Djokovic to pull it off), but let's not start downplaying Rafas possible USO victory.

Federer is pretty much good on all surfaces. Aside from Clay, he's had similar records and domination on all the surfaces.

I think for Federer, motivation and form is MORE important than the surface right now.
