Re: USO QF: Federer def. Soderling 6-4 6-4 7-5

Soderling needs to hit hard and close to the lines -- serve and groundies -- to trouble Federer. The wind didn't let that be a successful strategy. Federer had far many more options and used them effectively.

Always on the lookout for a great tennis match.

Great win Roger. Still a bit frustrating the way he gave up that break in the third but bounced back because of Soderling's stupid plays. Let's hope we don't see a Rafa Fed final. At least I don't want to see it Come on Youzhny

Disgraceful choking at 5-3 in third. Federer all serve and all luck. Hope Nole sorts him out in SF

best Fed played since AO, as close to JesusFed as it gets these days, especially the serving.

Djokovic is one afraid young man.

Don't be fooled by Frauderer. He played this well against Djokovic last year, then sucked against Del Potro in the final.

Federer was incredible, 17th slam on the way.

Not on this surface and not on this weather.

Soderling had a glimmer of hope in the third but I think the only thing that would have changed if he had kept it together would be Federer winning in 4 instead of 3.

Bad match. Wind played a part, of course.
Robin without serve doesn't stand a chance against Fed.
Some clutch play from Rogie.

Horrific serving by Soderling and this is the result. He even had 5*-3 30-15 in the third set and then choked it away.

To play this well in the wind, especially his 2nd set serving is just sick. Great performance.
