WWW Newhaven R2: Blake v Dolgopovolov

What do you think?

I honestly think Dolgo will destroy this Flake, but couldn't care less, I still feel James is out of gas but relentlessly denies the fact. He says he is coming back over and over but then loses to some no-name mug of a player. He destroyed Riba today, but Riba was almost worse than a Rampras-of-sorts. A bagel and a breadstick served on a tenniscourt. What more could be dished?

The Flake needs to retire and I desperately hope his time comes immediately probably in the second week where he loses. (USO) I seriosly hope this isn't the end of this former Yale star, but I think its time to switch gears. The train has left and James has missed it. OH well, it was fun, but only way back in 2007 where he rocked, now its just embarrasing. No fun whatsoever watching this guy lose over and over. Kind of heartwrenching.

Dolgo in 3.

Dolgo in 2...I think James will have problems breaking serve. Hope he fights and pulls out a win, but I think Alex in 2 is pretty reasonable

Re: WWW Newhaven R2: Blake v Dolgopovolov

I think the crowd will not be enough of a factor. It is supposed to be damp, cool and cloudy there tomorrow and that doesn't bring out the spectators. Even with the crowd, the difference in level is too great for James to overcome, and this is a bad match-up for him regardless because Alex can use James' power against him, and probably will rack up a lot of aces and unreturned serves because of James' court positioning.

So, I see Dolgo winning in straights, MAYBE 3 sets, but I cannot see Alex losing here.

I'm a big fan of Dolgopolov, but I think he's pretty overrated for his achievements so far. I'd like him to win, but on a hard court I think it could go either way.

If at first you don't succeed, lower your standards.

Would love to see james pull it out but i doubt it.

Juan Martin Del Potro

But he lost 23 times against you.
's right. We have to also throw into the mix. But I do not think it is currently the decisive factor. But he has achieved in my opinion too much. Maybe this is crucial if I move him even closer after major victories. But 14 or 17 Grand Slam titles is a significant difference. At the present time there is no question that he must be the greater player than me.

indeed, he is. but he showed that with some progress, specially regarding return on serve and mental continuity, he can win matches like those lost with berdych or ferrer

i really hope he wins this

Depends on which Blake shows up. The guy is like jekyll & hyde.

Re: WWW Newhaven R2: Blake v Dolgopovolov

I like both players for different reasons. Blake's best years are behind him, Dolgopolov's are yet to come (maybe)
Could go either way.
