Post The ATP Top 10: Who's Out Next Year and Who's In?

...and who's Number 1?

The Current rankings:

1 Nadal, Rafael (ESP)
2 Federer, Roger (SUI)
3 Djokovic, Novak (SRB)
4 Murray, Andy (GBR)
5 Soderling, Robin (SWE)
6 Davydenko, Nikolay (RUS)
7 Berdych, Tomas (CZE)
8 Verdasco, Fernando (ESP)
9 Roddick, Andy (USA)
10 Del Potro, Juan Martin (ARG)

Someone's gotta move, so I say Verdasco and Roddick take a fall and maybe Davydenko. Cilic and Baghdatis move up, and Fish or Querrey if Davydenko drops out.

Re: The ATP Top 10: Who's Out Next Year and Who's In?

People have been predicting Davydenko falling out of the top ten as early as 2007. Not to be.
Maybe Verdasco.
It might be easier to look at who might be able to break into the top ten.

Nadal will be #1 for awhile, Fed can take it back at the end of Wimby if he still has gas left in the tank.

del potro will fall under 30° losing 2000 points next week, and its hard that he returns in the top 10 next year i think

probably roddick and verdasco will fall too, ferrer will return in the top 10

I'm not worried at all about Potro making it back into the top ten.
So I have to disagree.
Another thing about Potro, he never reached his potential yet in some areas.
He can work on court coverage which is good already.
He'll get stronger, he's somewhat lanky still which is normal for someone his age.
His mental game is strong, he just plays and seemingly doesn't worry about who he's playing and where.
I'm very interested in his progress, one of my favorites.

Federer has no chance.

I predict him out of the top 12 by WTF 2011. I mean come on, this guy is a joke. People really need to stop cheering for him when its obvious he's teetering on the edge of oblivion every match against unranked mugs like falla or Fish. The young players is the future.

I believe federer will reach number 1 once again for atleast a week then his fall into the oblivion will begin.

Juan Martin Del Potro

But he lost 23 times against you.
's right. We have to also throw into the mix. But I do not think it is currently the decisive factor. But he has achieved in my opinion too much. Maybe this is crucial if I move him even closer after major victories. But 14 or 17 Grand Slam titles is a significant difference. At the present time there is no question that he must be the greater player than me.

David Nalbandian

yeah, the generation of youngsters that rule the ATP tour, where there aren't players under 21 in the top 100

Rafael "The Matador of Spin" Nadal
Roger “The Magician of Precision” Federer
Del Potro, Ferrer, Haas, Zeballos

Which young players? Quite the contrast is true. 2010 has seen a revival of thw "old boys".

The youngest finalists in a Masters event this year were Murray and Nadal, whom I consider well established players.

All the others - Ljubicic, Roddick, Berdych, Ferrer, Federer, Fish are not young anymore.

I predict you will still be this bitter and full of shit by WTF 2011. I mean come on, you are a joke. People really need to stop giving you a break when its obvious you're teetering on the edge of sanity every post you make. Normal well-adjusted tennis-fans are the future.

Fish will be in the top 10 when he'll learn how to play on clay court
