Who are your favorite Mugs?

They will lose. You know it. But you like them anyway. List 3 to 5 of your favorite mugs.
  • Richard Gasquet: magnificent loser. his technique is flawless, unlike his career. he can lead 2 sets to love and you know he will lose anyway.
  • Xavier Malisse: once rumored to be the future of tennis, he is a disappointment to most of tennis fans. but when he starts to play real tennis...
  • Arnaud Clement: few people remember that, few years ago, this guy made the final of Australian Open.
  • Olivier Rochus: once in a while, the diminutive belgian beats a top 5, but almost instantly returns to mediocrity.
  • Paul-Henri Mathieu: ah Paulo... he always try, bu he will never make it.

Re: Who are your favorite Mugs?

I wouldn't call them mugs, but players further down the rankings who I like are:

Phau - Cracked the top 200 in June 2000, is still top 100 now but has never gone above 59. 16 1st or 2nd round Grand Slam losses.
Stakhovsky - Crazy that a man with a career high 46 has three career titles. Perfect in semi-finals and title matches.
Luczak - Cracked top 200 in July 2002, been ranked around 64-200 since.

lllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

Re: Who are your favorite Mugs?

Very nice topic.

Melzer, Seppi, Wawrinka, Hanescu, Lopez, Gasquet.

And now I see, I almost only like those type of players

Re: Who are your favorite Mugs?

Great topic

Almugro - One of my favourite players. Shame about the defence and RoS.
Gasquet - Always go out my way to cheer for this man, in vain. 2 sets and a break means nothing.
Wawrinka - My heart tells me to support him, head luckily stops me.

A rats

most impressive

Gasquet's slam records in last 2 years is frightening too:
Wimbledon 2010: forfeit
Roland Garros 2010: 1st round
Australian Open 2010: 1st round
US Open 2009: 1st round
Wimbledon 2009: suspended for doping
Roland Garros 2009: suspended for doping
Australian Open 2009: 3rd round
