Singapore YOG Boys Final - J. S. Gomez (COL) def Y. Bhambri (IND) 6-7 7-6 4-1 ret.

Thrilling match. Pity it had to end this way. Bhambri was a mini-break up in the 2nd set TB and *1-0 up in the 3rd but played a feel loose shots to relinquish his leads. He called the trainer for a hamstring injury in the middle of the 2nd set and again at *1-4 in the 3rd before deciding to retire.

Gomez plays like the typical South American. Solid and consistent on both wings but does step up to take on the ball when the opportunity presents itself. He hung tough on a few important points and even made a few good volleys when pressed. Bhambri definitely has more power and seems pretty comfortable at the net, coming in and S&V-ing a couple of times. He hit quite a few impressive winners, especially off the FH, but needs to work on his consistency.

good for Juan Sebastian!!!

Bhambri is like a young del Potro, so he's pretty injury prone with all that power

Rafael "The Matador of Spin" Nadal
Roger “The Magician of Precision” Federer
Del Potro, Ferrer, Haas, Zeballos
