2010 Win/Loss Ratios

2010 WIN/LOSS RATIOS

I've been compiling statistics on the win/loss ratios of players at both the Tour and Challenger level up until last week. Using the arbitrary minimum of fifteen matches (n > 14) for the higher end and seven (n > 6) for the lower end, this results in the rankings of the best and worst performers displayed below*.

It is very interesting to see that five of the players (i.e. Michal Przysiezny, Kei Nishikori, Carsten Ball, Karol Beck, Robin Haase) that score poorly on the ATP level are among the best performers on the Challenger Tour, suggesting that it is really difficult to make the transition.

ATP Tour | Top 20:

Agree, great stats!

In fairness Roddick did pretty much skip the clay season which has skewed his win/loss ratio. That said, his performances in the early hard court season means that he merits his place near the top players of the list.

Re: 2010 Win/Loss Ratios

Thanks for these, great work

Slightly surprised Fed isn't worse (feels like he's been worse), but he's been at 80% in his last 5 tournaments so maybe that explains it. Great from Rafa obviously, and Roddick too.

Will Federer regain the #1 spot and break Sampras's record for most weeks at the top?

Roger // Rafa // Raonic // Söderling // Goffin // Ivo // Wawrinka // Baker // Delpo

Re: 2010 Win/Loss Ratios

roddick hasn't had a bad season, he just has underpreformed at the slams and skipped the clay season. think he will be back in the top 10 by the year end

Exactly. Obviously these statistics don't discriminate between surfaces and tiers of tournaments, so a win in tournaments like Newport counts as much as Wimbledon.

Re: 2010 Win/Loss Ratios

Last year, hardly Rafa's best, he played 78 official matches (including 4 DC), losing 14. That's 82% wins. It includes all surfaces but grass, since he skipped that season.
