Well done Richard. I really didn't believe he could come back after losing that first set, I'm glad he proved me wrong.

Allez!

Maybe this can turn into a "Youzhny should retire" thread.

We need more of those IMO.

pathetic 3rd set. 2nd set was real tight though, good to see richard pick up a much needed win here

Re: Cincinnati R1: gasquet defeats Youzhny 2-6, 6-4, 6-1

Good win for Gasquet!!

Did not play a good 1st set.

Played more aggressive in the 2nd which was needed and after he broke Youzhny at 5-4*, he had all the momentum in the 3rd!

Allez Gasquet!

Re: Cincinnati R1: gasquet defeats Youzhny 2-6, 6-4, 6-1

Richard was almost as bad in the first set as Youzhny was in the 3rd.

But GREAT to see RIchard get his head together in the second, once he started to play Youzhny just threw in the towel.

Gasquet needed a win - glad he got it.

Re: Cincinnati R1: gasquet defeats Youzhny 2-6, 6-4, 6-1

I have seen only the last game of the first set. Second went on with convincing service games from both. Some good returns, though not direct winners, brought Richard the break, in the third set Youzhny collapsed and or tanked and Richard was solid throughout. Good win for him, given their history.
