The top 5 in three years

Spanish finest tennis commentator Tomas Carbonell was asked the other day which players he saw in the Top 5 in three years. He was sure about Nadal, Djokovic, Murray, unsure about Del Potro and he bet for Gulbis as the new power. He left Federer out. I wonder what are your bets on this? and why? Mine:

Top 5
Nadal
Djokovic
Murray
Berdych
Tomic

Novak Djokovic nº1!

The Golden Era of Novak: Australian Open * Dubai * Indian Wells * Miami * Belgrade * Madrid * Rome * Wimbledon * Montreal * US Open * Abu Dhabi * Australian Open * Miami * Toronto * China * Shanghai * World Tour Finals 2012 * Australian Open 2013 * Dubai * Montecarlo * Beijing * Shanghai * Paris * WTF * Indian Wells * Miami * Rome * WIMBLEDON 2014 * AUSSIE OPEN 2015
Federer to Nole: "Amazing year. Amazing tournament. Amazing match. You are THE BEST!"

3. Djokovic
4. Querrey
5. Nadal

Too soon for guys like Tomic, Bhambri, Krajinovic, and Harrison to step up, but they'll definately be knocking on the door. I tend to think that Fed will still be competitive/dangerous but not a regular threat. I was actually hesitant to put Nadal in there because there's a good chance he'll be injured

Re: The top 5 in three years

Nadal and murray will be top 10 players if even in three years.

Juan Martin Del Potro

But he lost 23 times against you.
's right. We have to also throw into the mix. But I do not think it is currently the decisive factor. But he has achieved in my opinion too much. Maybe this is crucial if I move him even closer after major victories. But 14 or 17 Grand Slam titles is a significant difference. At the present time there is no question that he must be the greater player than me.

Re: The top 5 in three years

No way in 2007 could I have predicted Soderling's rise to the top 5. So this is a complete stab in the dark but my guess is:

1) Nadal
2) Djokovic
3) Murray
4) Del Potro
5) Young player currently not in the top 10 (Cilic and Gulbis look like the strongest contenders, I don't think Bellucci has the game to take him to the top 5, I'm not convinced Dolgopolov / Young can rise to this level within 3 years, and players like Tomic / Krajinovic / Bhambri / Dimitrov will look to make their move up the rankings)

Fed will still be here in 3 years time I think, hanging around number 6 or 7.
