Toronto SF: Murray def. Nadal 6/3, 6/4

Murray played very solid and Nadal not so much. Nadal came back a bit strong midway through the second set but Murray was eventually too tough in the end and made enough opportunities for himself.

I'll upload the stats in a minute.

Federer / Haas / Safin / Gaudio / Kuerten / Youzhny / Nadal / Gonzalez / Ljubicic / Hewitt / Soderling / Wawrinka / Coria / Nalbandian / Kohlschreiber

Re: Toronto SF: Murray def. Nadal 6/3, 6/4

Strong stuff from Murray. Great balance between aggression and his usual counter-punching self. WOuld be good for this to be his new comfort zone. Up to him to do this against other top players...and in big matches.

Rafa was OK. He could -- and should -- take this as a rust-scraping week.

<---"Espera. ¿Dónde están?"

Always on the lookout for a great tennis match.

Re: Toronto SF: Murray def. Nadal 6/3, 6/4

Horrible first serve % from Murray, should have been a lot more comfortable. Opening set was ok, was hitting his spots, lots of aces and unreturnables. Second though had to take a bit off just to get any in court at all, and was a real struggle.

Good first set anyway, all told. Not quite at the level vs Doughnut Dave though, but that was his best match for over a year imo.

Still, can't complain if you straight set the world number 1 on a bouncy hard court, with only 46% first serve.

Muzza is back.

I love all aspects of TENNIS.

Federer - The Artist
Murray - The Tactician
Nalbandian - The Ballstriker
Llodra - The S/V

Clearly demonstrates how different the matchup is on hard, as opposed to grass. Great performance from Andy.
