Gonzalez withdraws from Toronto

In the OOP he is replaced by Mathieu. When is he planning to come back ?

edit: Monfils will play Dev Varman, mathieu is going to play against Lu (replaced Roddick)

Re: Gonzalez withdraws from Toronto

I don't know. But I miss him.
I'm not a fan of his tennis, but I really miss him.

Ah, appeal moderation? Wanna know what appeal moderation did to me?
LOOK AT ME!
LOOK AT ME, BOY! THESE ARE THE SCARS OF APPEAL MODERATION!
Take a good long stare, you know you want to.
You're not even man enough to look at my face.

Appeal moderation isn't pretty, you have to watch your friends go to dust.
Appeal moderation is always hungry for your soul and sweet emotions.

First and once godly-worhispped appeal moderator.

Withdrawals galore.
(OTOH, Mathieu will get a chance to get over that awful, awful choke in qualy.)

Get well soon, Fernando. I hope Gonzo still has at least one good season left in him.

Can't remember the last time a player had his opponent changed 3 times!

Re: Gonzalez withdraws from Toronto

I miss Gonzo. Seems like 2010 has been a nightmare year for him, and he can't seem to stay healthy long enough to come back. Hopefully we'll see more of him for the fall season. He's one of those competitors that you love watch, even if he's not your favorite. I hope he recovers.

There are times, rare moments, when the greatest of champions fall. Maybe because of a bad day or maybe there's pain within. One thing you can be sure of, is that all the great champions will bounce back again. It may not be today. It may not be tomorrow. But one day, they'll be back again. And they'll be better than ever. Why??? Because that's what great champions do. They survive.

True, he's a real character on court as well, very funny at times.

Re: Gonzalez withdraws from Toronto

Could it be that all the guys are being extra careful before the USO? They're dropping out like flies ahead of the last major of the year and I think that this will prove to be the rule rather than the exception going forward in tennis due to the uncompromising schedule. If I were them I would do the same: embellish their ailments to the press, take a breather, and prepare all out for the big battle to come.

Gonzo Get well soon. It certainly does seem like they're all being extra cautious at the moment.
