Nice serving stats from Troicki!

He played well, really took his chances well and played with a bit of initiative.

This was by far the best I've seen him play. He has of course been thrashed soundly every other time I have seen him though.

Bit of an upset but yes the gloss is taken off by Cilic being in poor condition.

Stomach upset or something, said he was dizzy. He really didn't look good, wanted to stop middle of one of his service games.

Marin you're a disgraceful tie-break player, I feel sorry for Goran, he must be tormented watching Cilic's tie-breaks

I think no matter how much it isn't said, I still think that incident with the young player has drained Marin a little bit emotionally. It seems after the tipsy match in washington he's hit a wall physically, and he was absolutely thrashed by nalby on saturday. He needs at least a week or two off before the open or he will be upset within the first 2 rounds.

Was this in the first set or the second set?

He stopped in the second at *adv-40 4-4, and was told to get on with it by the umpire.

Called the trainer earlier, can't remember if that was first set or not.

We're waiting for you to get out of the Top20, Marin. You don't belong.

If Cilic had an injury this is understandable. If not he needs to take some drastic measures with respect to his coaching situation. He is really stagnating

Re: Toronto R1: Troicki def Cilic 6-4 7-6 (2)

Troicki is gradually coming up, beating better players.

I do think its strange that Troicki and Tipsarevic so often just happen to be pitted against each other in the first two rounds such as now at Toronto. Either that or they are up against top 10 players, while other players in their ranking are playing opponents around their range or less.

But I guess I'm just being paranoid. The draw never ever gets manipulated, right?

Stagnating? well i hope you don't mean he is stagnating from his past USO/AUSOPEN form.

Maybe Cilic is a later bloomer ala Soderling/Berdych, who knows?
His game is nowhere as physical as those guys though.
