Toronto R1: Dolgopolov vs Petzschner 1-6 6-2 7-6(7-4)

It was the first match on hard court for Dolgo since February 1. Good job, Aleksandr!
You need some time to adapt...

Very happy for Dolgopolov. I wonder what happened to Petz' service during TB.

Petz

Dolgo was up *3-1 40-0 in the 3rd set and got broken And he was also up *5-2 and lost both serves but petzschner just gave up both his serves as well

Re: Toronto R1: Dolgopolov vs Petzschner 1-6 6-2 7-6(7-4)

Very dirty. Petzschner to win the first set was matched down as low as 1.04 prematch, with about $40k bet on that even at 1.14ish. His price to win the match was much higher, so it was pretty obvious what was coming.

Not sure if the end result was fixed too (my guess is not), but there were all sorts of strange goings on inplay. In particular, Petzschner breaking back in the third was magically "predicted" by large lumps of money.

To win the match, but the distinction doesn't matter - you can then lay at evens a minute later and more than double your money.

Dolgopolov matches often have strange betting patterns. i mean just look at the guy and from which country he's coming from. shouldn't surprise anyone.

Yup :-(

Usually when guys crack the top40 they leave this sort of thing behind though, prize money is then enough to take care of that.

I hate to say it too, cos I really like Petz's game, but that's about the 5th like this in the last year for him (admittedly the others weren't as dodgy as this). The previous ones weren't enough alone, and perhaps I was a little biased ignoring them, but in this context they don't look good.
