Article: The Best Players Never To Win the US Open

Article I've written on Bleacher Report, read on...

With the US Open fast approaching, it would be interesting to take a look at some of the best players who never managed to lift the trophy at one of the toughest tournaments in the world.

Borg and the others aren't close.

For Serenidad
Daniel Brands

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Indeed - if she could have learned to serve properly she would have been a serious contender all the time.

Re: Article: The Best Players Never To Win the US Open

Nice article. Honourable mentions to Roche and Kodes, the only male players besides Borg to have played multiple US Open finals without taking the title. Roche took the first set in both of his finals but lost in four. Kodes did the same in his first final (won the first, lost the next three - fourth set in a tiebreaker) and had a 2 sets to 1 lead in his next final.

World number twos Chang and Djokovic also have solid US Open records (one final and two semis).
