Gilles Simon is one of the world's most popular players. We admire his movement, defensive skills, superb backhand, ability to inject pace and turn defence into attack, and above all heart and courage. Who could forget his victories from behind over Federer (twice) and Nadal in 2008. And his magnificent run to the Australian Open QFs in 2009.
He is clearly one of the most talented players in the world, and can adapt his game to all surfaces. But sadly injuries this year have resulted in a drop in his ranking and a loss in his confidence. Will this much admired Frenchman manage to battle his way back into the top echelons of the game
? or are his best days behind him
