How could this possibly warrant a thread?

Anyway, The Don is playing some good tennis lately. He just needs to transition into having some good ATP results.

I guess all that hype about DY was for nothing. I like the guy, but I don't think his heart is in this game any longer, which explains why he hasn't shown his potential. I wish him best of luck.

There are times, rare moments, when the greatest of champions fall. Maybe because of a bad day or maybe there's pain within. One thing you can be sure of, is that all the great champions will bounce back again. It may not be today. It may not be tomorrow. But one day, they'll be back again. And they'll be better than ever. Why??? Because that's what great champions do. They survive.

I wonder what fellow USA resident Ryan Young (ranked 1720) thinks of this. Happy for Young and I hope he can keep it going.

I feel a loss to Stadler coming.

If not, then he should go deep and possibly win this event. He's almost top 100, a win at this tournament could get him there. He's shown he can do well in challengers, he just needs to produce a similar level in ATP events.

Donald is in the SF after defeating Stadler and Cook in straight sets. He plays Smyczek tomorrow for a place in the F.

If Don wins this event, he should be right around 100 in the rankings next week and have a direct entry into the US Open. Hopefully he does and he can start actually producing these results in ATP events.

That certainly can't be THE most crucial factor in one's career or do you have an explanation for Oli Rochus doing fine and Davydenko being in or around top 5 for years. DY actually has some inches over both.

Don is a puny looking dude....but when I watch him play, I always notice how poor his footwork is and how inconsistent his groundstrokes are. I'm sure there is some correlation there.
