Haase's serve overrenting

You guys are overrating his serve. It's decent but Nadal having a bad day returning helped it look good.

Haase's serve is not much faster than Nadal's at Wimbledon.

Haase Nadal
Fastest Serve Speed 134 MPH 129 MPH
Average 1st Serve Speed 120 MPH 116 MPH
Average 2nd Serve Speed 101 MPH 94 MPH

Nothing special compared to someone like Soderling...

Fastest Serve Speed 137 MPH
Average 1st Serve Speed 127 MPH
Average 2nd Serve Speed 111 MPH

Re: Haase's serve overrenting

maybe you should breakdown the serve stats into sets - because towards the end of the match his serve was getting worse, but he was serving superb in the first 3 sets....

Look at other stats and not just serving speed.

Baker (USA) - Bedene (SLO) - Bellucci (BRA) - Berta (SWE) - Cuevas (URU) - Domijan (USA) - Ebden (AUS) - Estrella (DOM) - Grigelis (LTU) - Guccione (AUS) - Heliovaara (FIN) - Kavcic (SLO) - King (BAH) - Kontinen (FIN) - Kubler (AUS) - Lajovic (SRB) - Matosevic (AUS) - McGee (IRE) - Millman (AUS) - Mitchell (AUS) - Nielsen (DEN) - Nieminen (FIN) - Paire (FRA) - Udomchoke (THA)

Re: Haase's serve overrenting

By far the weakest part of Nadal's game is his return of serve, it's not surprising that Hasse's serving would be overinflated by tards who see no weakness in Nadal's game. Haase had a good serving day but it was far from unusual. Even Bozo served better against Roger imo.

Re: Haase's serve overrenting

I was watching the match and Haase serve in first 3 sets was sensational, fast, angles and 85-90 %, and he missed when he was 40-0 in current game, absolutely superb. Nadal was playing very good, only few double faults, unforced errors and couple of crazy winners by haase took two sets out of him, but in the rallies nadal was demolishing haase, 40+ winners and 12 UE and nadal 5 setter in 2.22, that's 3 setter for him normally. But well done Haase, if you continue like this you will be back to top 40-50 very soon. This match totally remined me on 2008 2nd round vs. Gulbis, only there was 4 sets with 3rd set breaker.

Re: Haase's serve overrenting

You do realise that serve speed isn't everything? Placement and variety are a big part of it too.

even nadal return of serve is weak - he is the top 5 players in terms of return of service game won, points won on returning 1st serve, points won on returning 2nd serve and % of bp conversion - so the poor return of serve has become irrelevant.....
