Has Simon Reed ever watched tennis? "Jarkko Nieminen has a big serve"

Simon Reed is pretty clueless. In his short text on the Eurosport website, he wrote this about Nieminen/Murray:

Quote:
Jarkko Nieminen has a big serve and he's a feisty character so it should be a good match against Andy Murray.

But Murray is just about as good a returner of the ball as you can get. I think Murray will be too good for Nieminen and he should win it in three.
WTF? Nieminen has one of the worst serves on the tour, blasting the first flat or with slow sidespin and then pushing the second serve (much like a lefty, worse version of Murray in this regard).

He's a counterpuncher and a crafty player, a bit like Murray in his style of play. This is one of Reed's worst comments so far IMO . Does he follow tennis at all?

Only Del Potro can take him out before the semis, and he won't. Nadal is winning the AO, bet your house on it.

WOW, it's true that Jarkko has worked to make his serve better, but didn't know it could actually be his strong point now . WAIT, WOT, NOT.... Reed .

He does stand up.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

The 1st serve is prettty big... but the 2nd is maybe the worst in the Top 100 after Rochus

Matosevic, Hanescu, Lorenzi, Kukushkin, Chiudinelli, Gulbis, Bozoljac, Gabashvili, Hernych, Brown, Garcia-Lopez, Rosol, Zeballos, Istomin, Kohlschreiber, Tursunov, Robert, Gonzalez, Monaco, Thiem, Seppi

Jason Goodall, by contrast:

Quote:
However, in coming up against Finland's Jarkko Nieminen in the second round he will face a player who has, without a shadow of a doubt, the worst serve of anybody ever to rank inside the top 15 in the world, so even if Murray isn't able to post great numbers when stepping up to the line he still should have enough in his locker to get the job done, but later on in the tournament that won't necessarily be the case.
Someone who actually follows tennis .

at Reed.
